Adult ADHD remains a controversy to some. But for those who struggle with this disorder and the spouses/families inflicted, it creates a real-life problem on various levels. For example - How do you trust your partner to raise children together/with you, while being married to an “adult-child” yourself who
still requires supervision him- or herself?
This far in my professional life I’ve always concentrated on the children & teenagers (prevention strategy, 1st level interference) but there are those who persevere with ADHD symptoms into adulthood for various reasons.

One of the bottom lines is, you very likely might not be able to change your ADHD partner. But there are strategies to make the relationship work if you are willing to learn about the problems, the struggles, try to understand, and are willing to “put in the time”. I am not sure if the coining “love conquers all” is always true, but I do believe in relational commitments which can transcend Love itself.
